TEAM: Wilshere Starts! My Arsenal Line-Up To Play Galatasaray
Arsenal welcome Turkish giants Galatasaray to the Emirates on Wednesday night, this is the team I’d like to see Arsene Wenger go with.
Wojciech Szczesny should continue in goal and with Mathieu Debuchy and Nacho Monreal out injured, we don’t have too many options at the back.
There were rumours on Monday that Laurent Koscielny was a doubt but Arsene didn’t mention it in his team new update at his press conference this afternoon, so we have to assume Kos is fit to start alongside Mertesacker.
Calum Chambers was solid against Spurs and should continue at right-back with Kieran Gibbs on the left.
We have some problems in midfield with both Aaron Ramsey and Mikel Arteta set for a month on the sidelines. There were fears over Jack Wilshere too but the boss confirmed he’s in the squad after taking part in full training today.
The big question is whether he should start or be rested for the Chelsea game this Sunday but given our lack of alternatives, I think Jack has to start. This is a vital game after our loss at Dortmund so we can’t take anything for granted. If Arsene does decide to rest him, then I’d expect The Ox to come in alongside Flamini as Diaby hasn’t been selected in the squad.
I’d like to see Alexis Sanchez start after he was left on the bench against Tottenham. If there is a silver lining from Rambo’s injury it’s that Arsene can now keep Ozil in the middle and bring Cazorla back in to the team on the left.
I think we’re far more balanced like this and we’d have an impressive trio behind Welbeck so we should cause Galatasaray plenty of problems.
Here’s my line-up:
While this is the team I’d go with, I also think it will be very similar to the side Arsene picks. As I mentioned earlier, he may decide to rest Jack and start Oxlade-Chamberlain in midfield but otherwise I think we’ll see this side take to the field tomorrow.
What team would you select?
