Arsenal keeping tabs on Fulham forward Gonzalo Garcia ahead of possible swoop

By on October 2, 2026

Arsenal are keeping tabs on Fulham centre-forward Gonzalo Garcia ahead of a possible transfer to the Emirates Stadium, according to Swiss outlet 4-4-2. CH.

Garcia came to prominence while with Real Madrid Castilla, where he netted 30 goals. His goalscoring heroics saw him introduced to the first team under Carlo Ancelotti, and in just his fourth cameo appearance, he repaid the faith by scoring a dramatic 93rd-minute winner in the 3-2 win over Leganés in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals on February 5, 2025.

He went on to show remarkable goal-scoring prowess in the 2025 FIFA World Cup, where he clinched the top scorer award after netting four goals in six games for Real Madrid.

However, despite his prolific form, regular playing time was not easy to come by, particularly due to the club’s need to accommodate both Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe in the attacking setup.

Still, Garcia netted 13 goals for the Catalan giants before leaving permanently to reunite with former manager Alvaro Arbeloa at Fulham.

Since arriving at Craven Cottage, he has netted twice and remains a subject of keen interest from several clubs, including Arsenal.

This is according to 4-4-2. CH, which claims that the North London club have placed Garcia on their radar ahead of a potential swoop.

Exciting forward

The report adds that the Gunners are regularly monitoring the Spanish international, having been piqued by his versatility and goalscoring ability.

While it is unclear which of the transfer windows in 2027 Arsenal are planning to launch a swoop, the Swiss outlet reveals that Fulham have unequivocally ruled out the 22-year-old’s departure in January and will only consider offers between £51m and £59m for the youngster in the future.

However, Mikel Arteta’s side are set to face stern competition from Real Madrid, who have not ruled out the possibility of re-signing him after inserting a buy-back clause in the agreement with Fulham, while Aston Villa also admire his dynamism and are closely monitoring him ahead of a possible move, the report adds.

While Arsenal’s defensive solidity have continued to be their benchmark this season with only four goals conceded, their attack have not been at the level you would expect from title winners.

Considering Viktor Gyokeres struggles to influence games this season, signing a dynamic winger who can operate in different tactical setups would be an ideal plan.

Although Garcia’s goal record this season is not outstanding, his goalscoring prowess while at Madrid proves that he can thrive in a more dynamic system with higher-quality players like Arsenal.
