Arsenal eye swoop to sign Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic
Arsenal are reportedly considering signing Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic next summer, as per the transfer journalist Rudy Galetti.
The Gunners were said to be keen on signing a new prolific goal-scorer in the summer window and were linked with a host of options. However, they eventually decided not to hire anyone before the deadline.
Instead, they opted to sell Eddie Nketiah to Crystal Palace. So, following the Hale End graduate’s departure and bearing in mind, Gabriel Jesus’ persistent fitness problems, Mikel Arteta’s side look a bit thin in the centre-forward department at the moment.
Therefore, it appears the North London club are planning to finally sign a new striker next summer to add depth to the frontline to continue challenging for big prizes.
On TEAMtalk, Galetti has reported that Arsenal are interested in Vlahovic and they could make a concrete approach to acquire his service at the end of this season.
Vlahovic to Arsenal
The forward will enter the final year of his current contract with Juventus next summer and talks regarding a new long-term deal are currently at a standstill. So, there is a good chance that the Serbian will leave the Allianz Stadium next year.
However, the journalist says Juventus won’t allow their star man – who is valued at around £54m by Transfermarkt – for cheap and could demand a ‘big fee’.
The Emirates club hold a long-term interest in Vlahovic as they attempted to purchase him a few years ago after being impressed by his displays for Fiorentina. However, the striker eventually decided to move to the Bianconeri by rejecting a move to the North London club.
Vlahovic, standing at 6ft 3in tall, is quick, strong, good in the air, efficient in finishing off his chances and also works extremely hard without possession.
He possesses high potential and has the necessary attributes to flourish in a high-intense league like the Premier League. The Serbian is still just 24 and is yet to enter the prime years of his career.
It is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal can finally manage to sign their long-term target next year to bolster their centre-forward department.
Meanwhile, the Gunners will face off against Leicester City in the Premier League this weekend before taking on PSG in the Champions League next week.
