[Instagram] Mesut Ozil sends message to Arsenal fans after Liverpool mauling
Mesut Ozil has taken to Instagram to send a message to Arsenal fans after our 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
Like all of his Arsenal team mates, Ozil had a game to forget as he was a virtual bystander as the hosts ripped us apart to secure a comfortable victory.
Goals form Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge inflicted yet another embarrassing defeat at the hands of our so-called rivals.
Ozil has been singled out for criticism by some sections of the fan-base as he was woeful yesterday but he certainly wasn’t the only one and I don’t think it’s fair to pick on any one player after such a shocking all-round performance.
Players are always quiet on social media after a heavy loss but to be fair to the German playmaker he’s had the balls to post a message to the fans on Instagram.
Ozil said he’s disappointed with the result against Liverpool and admitted we simply weren’t good enough as the hosts thoroughly deserved the three points.
Mesut went on to apologies to the fans, especially those who travelled to Anfield, and says the players will try to improve and turn things around after the international break.
