Arsenal working on deals to sign 2 players from Euro giants, duo could go to make room
According to the Independent, Arsenal are working on loan deals to sign James Rodriguez and Denis Suarez this month and may allow Aaron Ramsey and Mohamed Elneny to leave if we can get the transfers over the line.
Suarez has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal this month with numerous media outlets reporting that we’re in talks with Barcelona over a deal to sign the out-of-favour attacking midfielder.
Arsenal are reportedly keen to sign Suarez on an initial six-month loan ahead of a permanent switch in the summer and the Independent says the principles of a deal with Barca are now in place.
The newspaper claims a loan fee is yet to be agreed and some other finer details need to be ironed out but Suarez is expected to complete a loan move to Arsenal before the end of the month.
The 25-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular place at the Nou Camp and Unai Emery knows him well from their time together at Sevilla so it looks like the Spaniard could become our first January signing.
Suarez has predominantly played as a central attacking midfielder throughout his career but he played on the winger under Emery at Sevilla so his versatility would be a very useful asset.
The Independent claims Arsenal chiefs are also working to secure a loan deal for Rodriguez with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid reportedly open to the idea of letting the midfielder move to north London.
The Colombian international is struggling for game-time at Bayern Munich so Arsenal could take over the final part of his loan from Real Madrid but it appears this deal isn’t as close to completion as the Suarez one.
If we manage to get both Suarez and Rodriguez on board, the Independent says Arsenal would be willing to cash-in on Aaron Ramsey and sell him to Juventus for £10m this month.
Ramsey has agreed terms over a free transfer move to the Turin giants when his contract expires in June but the switch could be brought forward to January if Juve are willing to stump up £10m.
The newspaper says Mohamed Elneny could also be on the move before the end of the month after struggling for game-time at Arsenal with Southampton and Leicester City showing an interest in the Egyptian international.
So it looks like it’s going to be a busy end to the January window at Arsenal with two possible incomings and two possible outgoings. It makes sense to try and sell Ramsey this month rather than lose him for nothing and it would be good business if we could get Suarez and Rodriguez on loan.
