[Photos] Boost for Arsenal as trio take part in training ahead of Man City showdown
Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil and Alex Iwobi are set to feature against Manchester City tomorrow after taking part in full training ahead of the Carabao Cup final.
Ramsey returned to training on Wednesday having missed the last three games due to a groin injury and Arsene Wenger said the midfielder would be assessed to see if he’ll be able to face City.
Ozil sat out the embarrassing Europa League defeat to Ostersunds on Thursday night after suffering a sickness bug and the boss said our German super-star would also need a late fitness test.
Iwobi limped off during the closing stages of the loss in midweek due to severe cramp so Wenger said the midfielder would need to be checked over before his availability for the cup final would be determined.
However, it looks like Ramsey, Ozil and Iwobi are all in contention to feature against City after taking part in full training with the rest of the squad at London Colney this afternoon.
There availability will come as a welcome boost, particularly Ramsey and Ozil as they are expected to be key players for us as we try to beat the run-away Premier League leaders to lift the first piece of silverware this season.
