Brighton could pay Arsenal at least £25m for Reiss Nelson

According to Football Insider, Arsenal may be willing to let Reiss Nelson depart for between £25 and £30 million, with Brighton expected to swoop for him.
David Ornstein revealed the other day that Arsenal fans may expect a busy summer transfer window. He claimed Mikel Arteta wants five new signings, and Nelson is is among the players expected to leave to help fund those new players.
According to Football Insider, Brighton would not turn down the opportunity to recruit Nelson. The Seagulls are huge admirers of the 24-year-old and are his clear exit path from Arsenal.
Interestingly, Brighton manager Robert De Zerbi already has an idea of how to incorporate the Arsenal attacker into his system. If the Hale End graduate moves to the Amex Stadium, he is to be played as an inverted winger, as Kaoru Mitoma is deployed.
Nelson’s ability to play on both wings is an asset but he’s never going to break into Arsenal’s first team ahead of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
Time up for Nelson
Arsenal will not miss him much given he hasn’t even made a league start this season; he’s only made 23 appearances in all competitions and clocked only 654 minutes. With four years remaining on his contract, requesting at least £25 million for his exit seems reasonable.
When he broke into Arsenal’s senior side in 2017, there were high hopes for him. To help his development, Nelson made loan moves to Hoffenheim and Feyenoord to find his magic.
He returned to Arsenal, ready to compete for a place in the team, but he has been unable to secure a spot in the starting lineup. It’s unfortunate, given his untapped potential, that he may have to leave.
That said, his departure may be a win-win situation; he could gain ample game time elsewhere, and Arsenal could recruit a better replacement.
