Arsenal predicted line-up against Leicester City
Following a confidence-boosting victory against Crystal Palace, Arsenal will welcome Leicester City at Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Gunners achieved a crucial 2-0 victory against Patrick Vieira’s side last Friday thanks to the contributions from Gabriel Martinelli and an own goal from the Eagles’ defender Marc Guehi.
On the other hand, Leicester will be coming into this game off the back of a 2-2 draw against Brentford in their opening fixture.
Arsenal have enjoyed decent success against the Foxes in recent years as they have won the previous three games with an aggregate scoreline of 7-1.
Arsenal expected line-up vs Leicester
Arsenal are expected to commence with the same line-up that started against Crystal Palace last Friday. So, Aaron Ramsdale will keep hold of his place between the sticks.
William Saliba made a great impression on his debut and will certainly start at the back alongside Gabriel Magalhães. Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko are likely to be the fullbacks for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Kieran Tierney came off the bench in the last game after recovering from a knee injury and could start on the bench once again this weekend.
Meanwhile, another defender Takehiro Tomiyasu – who hasn’t featured in any of the pre-season games and was absent in the opening fixture as well due to a muscular issue – has returned to the training and is likely to find himself in the matchday squad. But, this game will come too early for him to start.
Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka are expected to be the deep-lying midfielders for Arsenal, while Martin Odegaard will start in the attacking midfield position.
Emile Smith Rowe and the new signing Fabio Viera have started training with the first-team squad after recovering from their injuries. But, they aren’t in contention to start this fixture.
Bukayo Saka will start on the right flank and Gabriel Martinelli will be on the opposite wing for Arsenal. The Brazilian opened his account last Friday and Saka will be eyeing to do the same this weekend.
Despite failing to find the back of the net, Gabriel Jesus displayed an excellent performance on his Arsenal debut against Crystal Palace. He will lead the line against Leicester City tomorrow and will be hoping to put his name on the scoresheet in front of the home crowd.
