Arsenal ready swoop for £30m Serie A attacker, player wants PL move

By on April 21, 2017

According to Goal, Arsenal have joined the chase to sign Inter Milan’s £30m-rated attacker Ivan Perisic with the Croatian international believed to be keen on moving to the Premier League this summer.

Despite growing calls for Arsene Wenger to leave, it seems the Frenchman is likely to extend his stay at the Emirates and is already making plans for a busy summer in the transfer market.

With Alexis Sanchez being tipped to leave after failing to agree terms over a new deal and doubts over the future of Lucas Perez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, it seems a wide player is on Wenger’s agenda.

And Goal claim the boss has identified Perisic as a potential summer recruit with their sources suggesting the attacker is ‘almost certainly’ heading for England at the end of the season after growing frustrated with life at Inter Milan.

Perisic made his name in Germany with Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg before moving to the San Siro in 2015 and he enjoyed a superb European Championships with Croatian last summer.

However, it looks like he wants a new challenge and Goal say Inter are ready to cash-in at around £30m with the Italians already looking for potential replacements for the 28-year-old.

Understandably, we aren’t the only club interested as the report says that Chelsea and Man Utd are also keen, so we’ll face plenty of competition to secure his signature.

Perisic would be a solid signing as he’s a top class player and while he’s capable of playing anywhere across the attacking midfield positions, he’s most comfortable out on the left so he would be a decent replacement for the likes of Perez or The Ox.

However, he’s nowhere near Sanchez’s class so Arsene better have more ambitious targets in mind if we need to replace our Chilean super-star this summer.
