Arsenal plot swoop to sign Hoffenheim star Bazoumana Toure

By on May 15, 2026

Arsenal are plotting a swoop to sign exciting Ivorian winger Bazoumana Touré from Hoffenheim next summer, according to Fussballdaten.

Mikel Arteta currently has Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and the versatile Noni Madueke available as left-wing options at Arsenal.

Even so, speculation has intensified in recent weeks regarding the futures of Martinelli and Trossard, with one of the pair potentially leaving the Emirates Stadium at the end of the campaign, prompting the club to assess possible replacements, including Touré.

The exciting winger first rose to prominence during his spell with Hammarby IF in Sweden, where he impressed with nine goals and four assists in 23 appearances.

His move to Hoffenheim was completed on the final day of the 2024–25 winter transfer window, and he adapted quickly to life in the Bundesliga, registering three assists in 13 appearances — including seven starts — during his first half-season in Germany as Hoffenheim pulled clear of relegation trouble.

In the ongoing season under Christian Ilzer, the 20-year-old has firmly established himself in the starting lineup, contributing 17 goals and assists across 29 Bundesliga matches.

Now, according to Fussballdaten, Toure is set to become the subject of keen interest among several clubs across Europe, including Arsenal.

Exciting winger

The report adds that the Gunners have already initiated a comprehensive data analysis and background checks on the player. Touré’s pace promises a seamless integration into Mikel Arteta’s tactical system.

The Premier League leaders have also conducted an extensive background check on the 20-year-old and view his pace as a valuable asset that would integrate seamlessly into Mikel Arteta’s style of play, according to the report.

Having rebuffed all approaches last summer, Hoffenheim are now open to Toure’s departure for a fee around £43m, with Arsenal now set to battle with Liverpool for his signature in the summer, Fussballdaten adds.

Toure is a highly versatile wide player capable of operating effectively on either flank, although his strongest and most productive displays have generally come from the left wing.

The Ivorian attacker combines explosive acceleration with exceptional one-against-one ability, regularly beating defenders with ease while also possessing an impressive passing range in the final third.

Among players attempting at least 4.5 dribbles per 90 minutes, Touré currently boasts the highest success rate at 69%, highlighting both his efficiency in progressing the ball and his threat in direct attacking situations, making him a viable option for Arsenal’s attack.
