Video: Arsenal 2-1 Burnley: Last Gasp Sanchez panenka pen wins it
Alexis Sanchez scored a last gasp penalty to secure 10-man Arsenal a dramatic 2-1 win over Burnley at the Emirates this afternoon.
We dominated from the outset but couldn’t make the most of our dominance as the boys wasted a number of chance to break the deadlock and it remained 0-0 at half time.
We failed to get a stonewall penalty not long after the break when Mustafi was fouled in the area but the German international got up and opened the scoring just a minute later as he headed home from an Ozil corner in the 59th minute.
As usual, we made life difficult for ourselves as Xhaka was shown a straight red card for a needless two-footed challenge on Defour after losing possession in 65th minute. I thought it was harsh but he should never has lost the ball and it was a rash tackle.
It looked as though we were set to drop two vital points when Coquelin gave away a stupid penalty in the 93rd minute and Gray converted to make it 1-1.
However, there was drama at the end as we were awarded a penalty of our own when Koscielny was caught in the face with a boot. Sanchez stepped up and won it with an audacious panenka penalty to sent us second in the table.
