REPORT: Sanabria ‘Agrees Terms Over Move’ After Deciding To Quit Barcelona
Arsenal target Antonio Sanabria has agreed terms to join another club after deciding to quit Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.
The 17-year-old is highly-rated at the Nou Camp and has been invited to train with the first team after impressing in their B team this season.
However, the striker is still tied to a youth contract and after months of negotiations, the forward has decided to reject the Catalans final offer of a professional contract for when he turns 18 early next year.
Reports in Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo claim the player has now informed the La Liga champions he is quitting and has already agreed terms over a move to an unnamed foreign club.
Arsenal have been strongly linked with a move in recent weeks with several newspapers claiming we are the front runners for his signature.
The Daily Mail reporting earlier this week that the player had told Arsene Wenger he was willing to move to north London, and we are ready to trigger the £2.5m buy-out clause in his contract next month.
This wouldn’t be the first time we’d snap up one of Barca’s highly-rated young talents with the likes of Jon Toral, Hector Bellerin and Fran Merida all following Cesc Fabregas in being persuaded to swap Spain for north London in recent years.
Could Sanabria be set to join this list? It’s looking more and more likely by the day, but you just never know until the ink is dry on the contract.
