Arsenal slumped to a disappointing 4-0 defeat to Southampton at St Mary’s this evening.
We fell behind midway through the first half and as ever it was an absolute worldy as unknown full-back Martina smashed home from 25-yards in the 19th minute. Although replays showed Long was offside in the build-up.
If we were unlucky with the first goal, the second was utterly ridiculous as Long blatantly tripped Koscielny just seconds before tapping home for 2-0 in the 55th minute.
The hat-trick of incorrect decisions was complete in the 69th minute as a corner was wrongly awarded to Southampton. Fonte powered home a header from the resulting kick to make it 3-0. Long then rubbed salt into the wounds by adding a late fourth.
One of those nights for Arsenal but we fluffed the chance to go top of the table so it’s vital we bounce back with a win against Bournemouth on Monday.
