Arsenal ‘appreciate’ Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola
Arsenal reportedly ‘appreciate’ Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola, as per transfer expert David Ornstein.
After moving to Parc des Princes from Olympique Lyonnais, the 23-year-old has enjoyed great success, winning three Ligue 1 titles, two Champions League trophies, and several other major cup competitions.
He has even showcased his productivity in the last two campaigns. Having made 41 goal contributions across all competitions during the 2024/25 season, he tallied 19 goals and assists last term.
After proving his worth in club football, the youngster has secured his place in France’s World Cup squad, helping his country reach the semi-final.
However, Barcola has struggled to break into Luis Enrique’s starting line-up in important matches over the last few years. So, speculation surrounding his future has been emerging in this window.
Now, on The Athletic FC Podcast, Ornstein states that Arsenal are planning to revamp the left flank and ‘appreciate’ the PSG star. But Liverpool and other clubs are also interested in him.
Les Parisiens have no intention of parting ways with him. With his existing deal set to run until 2028, the French giants wanted to tie him down to a fresh term. However, negotiations haven’t progressed at all between the two parties.
Barcola to Arsenal
The journalist further claims that Arsenal are prioritising signing Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers to bolster the left flank and are also interested in Christos Tzolis.
Ornstein said:
“PSG wanted to renew Barcola’s contract. It doesn’t seem there’s any movement on that front. And when you speak to people there, they’re of the view: look, he’s not for sale; we don’t want to sell him; we’re not looking to sell him; we don’t need to sell him.
“Of course, you don’t know what offers will come in or whether they’ll be tempted to change that stance. And yeah, Arsenal appreciate him; so do Liverpool, and I’m sure many other clubs.”
Barcola, valued at around £60m by Transfermarkt, is a right-footed left-winger by trait. He is quick, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, and is efficient in creating opportunities for fellow attackers.
He has shown glimpses of his qualities at the highest level for club and country in recent years. But he isn’t a finished article yet, so the Frenchman would be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services during this offseason.
