Arsenal: “It’s Too Early To Say” How Long Ozil Will Be Out For
Arsenal have refused to confirm that Mesut Ozil has been ruled out for 12 weeks with a knee injury.
The German Football Association claimed earlier this afternoon that Ozil will be out for between 10 and 12 weeks after scans revealed he had suffered a partial rupture to the ligament in his left knee.
However, Arsenal have now released a statement concerning the 25-year-old’s fitness and although they acknowledge he is heading back to London due to a knee injury, they say it’s “too early to say” how long he will be out for.
The statement on Arsenal.com said:
Arsenal can confirm that midfielder Mesut Ozil is returning to London from international duty with Germany after picking up a knee injury during Sunday’s game at Chelsea.
Ozil complained of a sore left knee after the game and the club advised the German FA to run medical checks when he joined up with his international squad.
The club will make further assessments and it is too early to say how long Ozil may be out of action.
Arsenal are now expected to conduct their own examinations and although there is a slim chance they could determine the injury isn’t as serious as the German doctors claim, I wouldn’t get my hopes up as it’s unlikely they have got it wrong.
In fact, lets face it, knowing our luck they have problem underestimated the injury and Arsenal will find that Ozil has fully ruptured the ligament and he’ll be out for six months instead of three!
