Confirmed line-ups: Brighton vs Arsenal – Bruno & Timber start for Gunners

Arsenal are looking to maintain their perfect start to the new season when we take on Brighton at the Amex Stadium this afternoon.

We head into the game sitting top of the Premier League table – level on points with Man City – after winning each of our four games so far. Last weekend’s impressive 2-0 win at Sunderland ensured we are above City on goal difference so we’ll be looking to move three points clear with a win today.

The boss made plenty of changes for the EFL Cup win over Ipswich Town in midweek but the big guns are recalled against Brighton this afternoon. David Raya is back between the sticks so Kepa makes way while Ezri Konsa comes in alongside Gabriel Magalhaes in the middle of Arsenal’s defence. Marli Salmon makes way despite his impressive display in midweek.

Riccardo Calafiori returns at left-back while Jurrien Timber starts at right-back having taken part in full training yesterday. Ben White and Christhian Mosquera are both ruled out but Piero Hincapie is back on the bench after recovering from a knock.

Declan Rice was given the night off against Ipswich but he’s back in midfield while Martin Odegaard is recalled to captain Arsenal today. The Swedish international will be hoping to continue his excellent early-season form.

Bruno Guimaraes made a stunning impact off the bench against Sunderland last weekend and he’s been rewarded with a start today. Mikel Merino, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Martin Zubimendi are all among the Arsenal subs.

Bukayo Saka is back in the starting eleven after being rested last time out. Christos Tzolis starts on the opposite flank so Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze make way. Max Dowman is on the bench after his MOTM display against Ipswich.

Kai Havertz is recalled to lead the line up front so Viktor Gyokeres drops out after a tough outing in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
