Young American prospects Arsenal could be looking at

These days, Arsenal tends to sign proven quality. However, that doesn’t mean we aren’t seeing young players emerge, be it Myles Lewis-Skelly or Max Dowman. In fact, it’s in the club’s DNA to develop young talent, meaning the Gunners are always assessing rising stars, potentially in locations across the pond like the United States of America.

From Daniel Karbassiyoon, who is a key part of the club’s scouting network these days, to Gedion Zelalem, we’ve witnessed a number of bright American sparks pull on the famous red and white. Not every player necessarily made it into the first team fold, though, while others made a few appearances before vanishing into obscurity. Despite some past failures in assessing Arsenal’s American players of old, notable talent still exists in that part of the world.

After hosting the World Cup, many experts are predicting a surge in talent in America. Sure, sports fans over there will probably always put more time into watching NBA games and indulging in Sunday night football betting, but that doesn’t mean the beautiful game in the US can’t produce more players like Chris Richards and Weston McKennie. With that in mind, below we assess some potential candidates for the club’s scouting department to follow.

Peyton Miller

Aged just 18, Peyton Miller is a left back with huge potential. The New England Revolution defender has a way to go before he takes the place of Fulham’s Antonee Robinson in the international setup, but he is showing plenty of promise. Big clubs are reportedly already circling, although it isn’t known if the Gunners are one of them. Stranger things have happened, though.

Adri Mehmeti

If Arsenal are looking to snap up young midfielders who can control games with ease, then look no further than Adri Mehmeti. Part of the Red Bull New York team that is expected to do fairly well in the MLS this season, the emerging American could also become a key player for the USMNT in the near future. From his ability on the ball to his passing range, the 17-year-old is surely known to the likes of Daniel Karbassiyoon and the club’s key scouting figures. In fact, having been compared to Sergio Busquets by some, Arsenal will surely be looking at Mehmeti.

Diego Luna

As the oldest player on the list, 23-year-old Diego Luna needs a big move sooner rather than later. He’s far from the finished article, but Luna could thrive in Arsenal’s environment. The attacking midfielder for Real Salt Lake is one of the finest players in his position in Major League Soccer.

Julian Hall

An 18-year-old forward who clearly knows where the goal is, Julian Hall has just signed a new deal at Red Bull New York. The club clearly rates their young prospect, with the 2026 MLS All-Star officially becoming the youngest American to sign a U-22 Initiative contract in MLS history. Hall has a lot to work on, though, but should be continue to exhibit serious potential, then Arsenal could make a move in the near future.

Chris Brady

While Arsenal fans didn’t see a great deal of Matt Turner during his time at the club, the American goalkeeper was needed. Should Mikel Arteta require another goalkeeper within his ranks, then Chris Brady is another American option worth looking at. Like Turner was, Brady is highly regarded in the MLS, having pulled off a number of spectacular saves during his time at Chicago Fire. The 22-year-old is certainly no David Raya, but should the likes of Kepa Arrizabalaga seek first team football elsewhere, then Brady could become a viable solution.
