Arsenal keen on signing Como midfielder Nico Paz

By on October 29, 2026

Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Como midfielder Nico Paz, as per TEAMtalk.

Since moving to the Emirates Stadium from Real Madrid, Martin Odegaard has established himself as an undisputed starter in the creative midfield position. Moreover, he is the club captain and helped his side win the Premier League title last term.

Apart from the Norwegian, the Gunners currently have Eberechi Eze as an option to deploy in the CAM role. However, Mikel Arteta has used the former Crystal Palace star on the left wing to support Christos Tzolis this season.

On the other hand, Max Dowman is emerging and can provide cover in the No.10 position if needed, but he is still very young and needs time to develop. He showed his naivety in Arsenal’s Carabao Cup defeat to Fleetwood Town by picking up an unnecessary red card.

Now, TEAMtalk state that Arsenal are considering strengthening the No.10 position and have been keen on signing Paz. However, Arteta’s side will have to overcome several obstacles to seal the deal.

Manchester United have also been showing keen interest in him, while Chelsea have monitored his development closely, with Xabi Alonso admiring Paz very much.

The Argentinian international joined Como from Real Madrid and Los Blancos hold a £67m[€80m] buyback clause, which can be triggered next summer.

However, the report state that Como have no intention of selling him and want more than £84m[€100m] to let him join any of the Premier League clubs in January.

Paz to Arsenal

Paz is a 6ft 1in tall left-footed creative midfielder but can provide cover in the box-to-box role. Furthermore, he is comfortable on the right flank if needed.

He is technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, has an eye for scoring goals from distance, and is efficient in creating opportunities for the attackers.

The South American has enjoyed a promising start this season, scoring five goals and registering six assists across all competitions. Having proven his worth in club football, he has secured his place in the Argentina national team.

Paz is considered one of the best young midfielders in Europe; therefore, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him.
