Arsenal ‘seriously considering’ move for Real Madrid forward Brahim Diaz

By on April 27, 2026

Arsenal are plotting an audacious swoop to sign Real Madrid forward Brahim Diaz next summer, according to Fichajes.

Since joining Manchester City in 2019, Díaz has seen his form improve significantly, playing a meaningful part in the club’s recent achievements.

However, despite being a regular under Carlo Ancelotti last season, his involvement this season has been limited to just 950 minutes, with the manager favouring Arda Güler, Rodrygo, and, at times, Federico Valverde on the left flank. That could change, however, given the season-ending injuries suffered by both Güler and Rodrygo.

Whenever given the opportunity, Díaz has continued to make an impact, contributing five assists in the league and finishing as the top scorer at the Africa Cup of Nations, where his five goals set a new record for a Moroccan player in the competition’s history.

With his role still limited and just one year remaining on his contract, speculation over a possible exit is gathering pace, with multiple clubs, including Arsenal, now keeping a close eye on his situation.

This is according to Fichajes, which claims that the Premier League leaders are closely monitoring Diaz’s situation at the Bernabeu ahead of a possible summer move.

Audacious swoop

The report adds that the North London giants see his versatility, technical qualities and link-up ability as a perfect profile for Mikel Arteta’s style of play.

While Madrid would be keen on retaining the 26-year-old, the Spanish giants could consider offers in the region of £34m, with Arsenal now ‘seriously considering’ the move, according to the Spanish outlet.

Díaz brings flexibility across the frontline, as he can comfortably operate on either wing, in a central No. 10 role, or even dropping slightly deeper as a No. 8 when needed. That technical quality would allow him to slot seamlessly into Arsenal’s system.

With Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli facing uncertain futures at the Emirates Stadium, the Moroccan international could see a transfer as the ideal opportunity to secure a consistent starting role in a competitive club.

Following back-to-back Premier League losses to Bournemouth and Manchester City, Arsenal returned to winning ways with a crucial 1-0 win over Newcastle United on Saturday.

They now turn attention to European competition, where they’re getting set to face Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
