Arsenal eye move to sign IK Sirius star Robbie Ure
Arsenal are reportedly interested in IK Sirius forward Robbie Ure, as per Caught Offside.
The 22-year-old came through Rangers’ youth system before joining Anderlecht in 2023. He signed for the Swedish side IK Sirius last year.
The youngster showed glimpses of his qualities in Allsvenskan last season, making 15 goal contributions in 30 appearances. However, he has taken his game to another level this term, scoring 15 goals and registering two assists in 14 league appearances.
Now, Caught Offside claim that after monitoring his development closely, Arsenal are interested in him. He is increasingly likely to leave this summer, although his existing deal is set to run until 2029.
However, the Gunners will have to overcome fierce competition to seal the deal as Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur have scouted him in recent times.
Apart from the Premier League clubs, AC Milan, Napoli, Monaco, Lille, Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, and Besiktas are also interested in him. However, Chelsea and Manchester City are showing the most concrete interest.
After monitoring his development, the Citizens and the West London club have already opened talks to secure his services, with the player valued at around £4m by Transfermarkt.
Ure to Arsenal
Ure is a 6ft 2in tall right-footed centre-forward but is also efficient with his left foot. He is strong, can link up the play and possesses the poacher instinct inside the box.
Arsenal currently have Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres as options to deploy in the centre-forward position. However, Jesus has entered the final year of his current contract and has had numerous fitness problems over the years.
Moreover, Havertz has had injury issues in recent years, while Gyokeres displayed inconsistent performances in his debut campaign in the Premier League.
As a result, it appears Arsenal are considering signing a new striker, and Atlético Madrid star Julian Alvarez has been heavily linked with a move. However, Mikel Arteta’s side have seemingly identified Ure as a potential alternative option.
Ure is a talented player and hasn’t reached his prime yet. Therefore, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal with a view to the long-term future should they eventually opt to secure his services.
