Arsenal are set to host newly promoted side Hull City at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

After being knocked out of the Carabao Cup by fourth-tier team Fleetwood Town, the Gunners have bounced back by winning the last two matches against Liverpool and Slavia Praha in the league and Champions League, respectively.

Mikel Arteta’s side are currently at the top of the table with 24 points from nine matches. On the other hand, they are third in Europe’s elite club competition with 10 points from four games, sitting two points behind table toppers Paris Saint-Germain.

Meanwhile, Hull City enjoyed a stellar start this season, winning the first three games across all competitions. However, they have been winless over the last two months, drawing five out of the last eight matches.

Therefore, Hull City are currently in mid-table with 11 points from nine matches, sitting four points above the relegation zone.

Team news

After recovering from his back problem, William Saliba was among the substitutes in midweek and should be fit enough to be involved this weekend. Although Ezri Konsa picked up an issue vs Slavia Praha, he is ready to feature this weekend.

However, Max Dowman is suspended for this game, while Bukayo Saka is set to remain sidelined due to an injury, which he picked up against Bayern Munich.

Predicted line-up

Arteta rotated the squad in midweek to keep everyone fresh amid this busy run of fixtures but is likely to recall all of the key players for this encounter. So, David Raya is set to continue in goal ahead of Illan Meslier and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Saliba could make his return and commence alongside Gabriel Magalhaes in the centre-back position. Jurrien Timber should be in the right-back position, and Riccardo Calafiori could be on the opposite side. Therefore, Ben White, Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapié would be among the substitutes.

Declan Rice is expected to continue in the defensive midfield position, and Bruno Guimaraes might be in the box-to-box role. Martin Odegaard should be the creative midfielder for Arsenal this weekend. Therefore, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Merino would have to make do with a place on the bench.

Christos Tzolis is likely to be on the left flank, and Noni Madueke may continue on the opposite side. Kai Havertz could lead the line for the Gunners; in that case, Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres would feature as substitutes if needed.
