Confirmed line-ups: West Ham vs Arsenal – Tomiyasu starts
Arsenal need a win to tighten their grip on fourth place when we take on West Ham at the London Stadium this afternoon.
However, we’ve been dealt a blow with Ben White ruled out of the game today due to a hamstring issue. Rob Holding comes in to partner Gabriel in the middle of defence.
Aaron Ramsdale keeps goal once again while Nuno Tavares starts at left-back with Kieran Tierney out. Takehiro Tomiyasu is handed his first start in over three months after recovering from a calf injury. Cedric Soares is the man to make way.
With Thomas Partey still out with the thigh injury, Mohamed Elneny is rewarded with another start in the holding role after impressing against Chelsea and Man Utd. Granit Xhaka also keeps his place in the middle of the park.
Martin Odegaard will be looking to continue his fine recent form as he started in the attacking midfield role for Arsenal today. Bukayo Saka is fit to start after recovering from a knock that forced him off against Uited last week.
Gabriel Martinelli is handed a recall to start in attack so Emile Smith Rowe drops to the bench. Eddie Nketiah keeps his place up front so Alexandre Lacazette has to make do with a place on the Arsenal bench.
As for West Ham, unfortunately they haven’t rested all of their key players as the likes of Kurt Zouma, Aaron Cresswell, Declan Rice, Manuel Lanzini and Jarrod Bowen all start for the hosts.
Here are the line-ups for the game:
West Ham
Fabianski; Coufal, Zouma, Cresswell, Fredericks; Noble, Rice; Fornals, Lanzini, Benrahma; Bowen
Subs: Yarmolenko, Antonio, Vlasic, Areola, Diop, Masuaku, Soucek, Kral, Alese
Arsenal
Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, Holding, Gabriel, Tavares; Elneny, Xhaka, Odegaard; Saka, Nketiah, Martinelli
Subs: Leno, Cedric, Kirk, Swanson, Lokonga, Oulad M’hand, Smith Rowe, Pape, Lacazette.
