[Video] Nelson scores beauty, Nketiah bags hat-trick as Arsenal U23’s thrash Everton
Eddie Nketiah scored a hat-trick while Reiss Nelson netted a superb solo strike as Arsenal’s U23’s thrashed Everton 4-0 last night.
The kids have been in great form lately having scored 15 goals in their last four games heading in to the match at Meadow Park and they continued to impress on Monday evening.
Nketiah opened the scoring in fortuitous circumstances as Joe Willock’s 12th minute shot deflected off the striker and in to the net for 1-0 following a corner.
The second goal was a thing of beauty as Willock released Nelson and the highly-rated attacker rolled the ball to fool the keeper and slot home in to the empty net for 2-0.
Nketiah then got his second with a cool finish in the second half before completing his hat-trick with another poachers strike in the 77th minute to make it six games unbeaten for the U23’s.
Nketiah rightly grabbed the headlines thanks to his treble but Willock also deserved credit for providing a hat-trick of assists while Nelson continued to enhance his reputation with his fine goal.
