Video: Preston 1-2 Arsenal: Giroud saves sloppy Gunners
Olivier Giroud was the savior once again as he scored late on to secure a 2-1 win for Arsenal against Preston North End in the FA Cup tonight.
We once again started poorly and Preston took a deserved lead in the 7th minute when Gabriel played their attack onside before being nut-megged as Callum Robinson slotted home for 1-0.
The hosts should have extended their lead but squandered a couple of excellent chances to make it more and we managed to go in to the break at just 1-0.
Preston rued their missed chances as we levelled things up just 60 seconds into the second half with Aaron Ramsey firing home from the edge of the box to make it 1-1.
We struggled to create clear-cut chances but finally found a winner when Lucas Perez teed-up Olivier Giroud with a lovely back-heel and the big Frenchman bundled home from close range in the 89th minute to book our place in the fourth round.
