Preview: Burnley v Arsenal, team news, Elneny to start & prediction

By on October 2, 2016

Arsenal will be looking to make it five Premier League wins on the spin when we take on Burnley at Turf Moor this afternoon.

The team really seems to have clicked in recent weeks and some of the football we’ve seen against Chelsea and Basel has been outstanding so hopefully we get another performance of that level today.

After a poor start to the new campaign, we’ve now put a great run together and are looking to make it five league wins on the bounce at Burnley which would move us up to second place in the table.

Team News

Coquelin has made a swift return after suffering a knee injury against Chelsea last weekend but the Frenchman is still unlikely to be risked from the start.

Ramsey is still out due to his niggling hamstring problem but the boss has said he should be back in contention after the international break.

Giroud has once again been ruled out with a toe injury that he picked up against PSG last month so he’s out along with Mertesacker and Welbeck.

Cech is set to return in goal after Ospina played against Basel in midweek.

Preferred line-up

I’d like to see Cazorla given a rest with Elneny starting alongside Xhaka in midfield while I’d also like to see Iwobi given a breather as he’s played a lot of football already this season. The Ox should therefore be given a run out on the wing.

Prediction

If we can reproduce the football we’ve played over the past couple of weeks then we should blow Burnley away. It’s not going to be as easy away from home and Sean Dyche’s men can be a dangerous side on their day but I fancy us to bring home the three points. Burnley 0-2 Arsenal
