Arsenal Eye Anthony Gordon for Summer Move
Arsenal are reportedly considering Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon as they plan a major rebuild this summer.
The Gunners are keen on bringing in a new left winger to give Mikel Arteta more attacking depth.
Newcastle star Gordon has now joined the list of possible options Arsenal are looking at, according to The Athletic.
David Ornstein reported that the 23-year-old is also attracting interest from other top clubs across Europe.
He added, however, that there is no sign of any deal being close or talks happening at this stage.
Arsenal have made Athletic Club’s Nico Williams their top target, but they are also keeping tabs on Gordon.
Gordon has been a key player for Newcastle and is enjoying a strong season in front of goal.
He has scored 9 goals and provided 6 assists across all competitions this campaign.
Newcastle unlikely to sell easily
Newcastle are not under pressure to sell Gordon, who signed a new contract earlier this season.
The club see him as a vital part of their project under Eddie Howe and will demand a hefty fee.
Gordon’s market value is £56 million, according to Transfermarkt.
He is known for his pace, direct style, and contribution to goals from a wide range of areas.
Although he mainly plays on the left, Gordon has also shown he can play from the right when needed.
That makes him a valuable option for a club like Arsenal who are looking to strengthen their attack.
Gordon has played a big part in Newcastle’s recent success.
He helped them lift the 2025 Carabao Cup and has been one of their standout players this season.
Arsenal’s interest shows they want quality and depth out wide.
However, a move for Gordon would need a big offer and Newcastle would be hard to convince.
Arsenal are preparing for another busy window, hoping to close the gap in the title race.
Whether Gordon ends up at the Emirates remains to be seen, but he is undoubtedly one to watch.
