Arsenal open talks to sign Juventus star Kenan Yildiz
Arsenal have reportedly opened talks over a deal to sign Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz, as per TEAMtalk.
The Gunners currently have Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli as the two options to deploy on the left flank, while Bukayo Saka and Ethan Nwaneri are for the opposite side.
Moreover, Raheem Sterling was hired on a loan deal to add depth in the wide forward position. However, he hasn’t had a good campaign this term, so he is likely to return to Chelsea at the end of this season.
Trossard and Martinelli have had an average campaign this season so it has been reported that the North London club want to bolster the flank this summer.
TEAMtalk claim that Arsenal are interested in Yildiz and have already made initial talks to gather information about the details of getting the deal done. They would even be prepared to make a concrete approach should an opportunity arise.
Yildiz to Arsenal
Juventus could be open to cashing-in on him to generate funds this summer if they couldn’t qualify for the Champions League and have slapped a whopping £75m price tag on his head.
Apart from the North London club, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool are also plotting a swoop for him and have also held talks over this deal.
The forward is comfortable playing in the left flank but is also efficient on the opposite side. Moreover, he can play in the centre-forward position. He has had an inconsistent campaign thus far this season, scoring six goals and registering four assists in 41 appearances in all competitions.
Despite that, the 19-year-old is a talented player and could become a top-class player in future. However, Arteta’s side need a readymade option – who would be able to help the club achieve their lofty ambitions straightaway.
Therefore, Yildiz might not be an ideal option for Arsenal to reinforce the squad. Moreover, Juventus’s £75m valuation is a bit inflated so the Gunners would be better off exploring other options to strengthen the attacking department.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal eventually make a concrete approach for him if he leaves Juventus this summer.
