Arsenal planning to submit offer to sign Takefusa Kubo
Arsenal are reportedly planning to submit an official proposal to sign Real Sociedad star Takefusa Kubo next summer, as per the Spanish outlet Fichajes.
After joining Real Madrid back in 2019, the Japanese struggled to break into Los Blancos’ first eleven so he was sent out on loan on several occasions to get valuable first-team action before the forward eventually opted to join Real Sociedad permanently last summer.
Upon moving to the Reale Arena, the 22-year-old has established himself as an integral part of Imanol Alguacil’s starting eleven in recent times. The youngster has enjoyed a stellar start this campaign, scoring four goals and registering a solitary assist in six league appearances.
So, it appears Kubo’s impressive displays for Real Sociedad haven’t gone unnoticed as Arsenal have already registered an interest in signing him in the upcoming window to strengthen their frontline.
Kubo to Arsenal
The Gunners have been aiming to sign a new right-winger over the last few transfer windows to support Bukayo Saka. However, despite being linked with numerous options, they haven’t opted to make a concrete approach to sign anyone yet.
Now, according to the report by Fichajes, after being impressed by Kubo’s recent performances, Mikel Arteta has prioritised signing the Japanese next summer to strengthen the right flank and Arsenal are ready to trigger his £52m release clause to lure him to the Emirates Stadium.
The report further claims that Real Sociedad have resigned to selling him next summer so the Gunners can manage to secure his signature if they formalise their interest at the end of this season.
However, Fichajes states that securing Kubo’s signature won’t be easy for Arsenal as Real Madrid have a buy-back option to sign Kubo in a £26m deal. So, it will depend on Kubo as to where he would decide to go if the two clubs go head-to-head with each other over his signature next summer.
Kubo is an extremely talented player and possesses high potential so he would be an excellent acquisition for Arsenal if they sign him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal eventually opt to formalise their interest in securing his signature next year.
