Arsenal ‘ready to spend’ big to land Kenan Yildiz this summer

Arsenal are ‘ready’ to submit an audacious formal offer to sign Kenan Yildiz from Juventus, according to Sacha Tavolieri.

Yildiz has established himself as one of Europe’s best young prospects since his breakthrough in 2023. His displays in the academy earned him regular spots on the first team bench before earning his first start in December 2023 in the 2-1 win over Frosinone, where he scored to become Juventus’ youngest foreign goalscorer at just 18 years and 233 days old.

He has subsequently established himself as one of Juventus’ most influential players. Despite the club’s fluctuating form in recent seasons and a succession of managerial changes, the 21-year-old has remained a consistent presence in the starting line-up.

His performances during the recently concluded campaign earned him a 7.39 average rating and a place in Sofascore’s Team of the Season after contributing 17 goal involvements in Serie A and 21 across all competitions.

The most appealing aspect of Yildiz’s qualities is his ability to play in multiple positions across the frontline and in attacking midfield.

Considering most of Arsenal’s forwards can play in more than one position, it’s no surprise he’s now heavily linked to the club, with Sacha Tavolieri reporting that the Gunners boss Mikel Arteta considers Yildiz his ‘dream target’ for next summer.

‘Super Yildiz’

The Premier League champions are keen on bolstering the left wing position and are planning on adding the 21-year-old to their squad, according to the journalist.

Recent reports revealed that Juventus rejected Arsenal’s previous approach for the versatile forward.

Still, the North Londoners remain keen on Yildiz, with Tavolieri adding that the club are ‘ready to spend’ around £86m to sign the Turkish international this summer.

Several football greats and pundits have waxed lyrical about Yildiz’s qualities and potential, but it is former Manchester United forward and Italian great Giuseppe Rossi who best describes him.

He said, ‘A super Yildiz.’ The Turk is a phenomenon and will be a Ballon d’Or winner in the future: he’s 20, but he plays like a 30-year-old with 100 Champions League appearances.’

His ability to stand out in the biggest games for Juventus in Serie A and the Champions League, and even for his national team, is evidence that his mentality and psychological side of the game are as strong as his on-field qualities.

His relentlessness off the ball also showcases his all-around abilities in both the attacking and defensive facets of the game, making his transfer a no-brainer for Arsenal this summer.
