Arsenal prioritising signing Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers

By on June 16, 2026

Arsenal are reportedly prioritising signing Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, as per The Standard.

After winning the Premier League title last term, the Gunners are planning to refresh the squad during this offseason to maintain their level next campaign.

It has been suggested that the North London club want a new right-back, midfielder, and centre-forward. Moreover, revamping the left flank is also on Mikel Arteta’s agenda.

Now, the Standard state that Arsenal have identified Rogers as the ‘priority’ target to bolster the left side of the attack and could make a concrete approach over the coming weeks.

Having recently tied the Englishman down to a fresh term until 2031, Unai Emery’s side are in a strong position to demand a huge fee if they are forced to cash-in and have slapped a whopping £100m price tag on his head.

The report further claim that apart from Rogers, Arsenal are keen on purchasing Christos Tzolis and Ayyoub Bouaddi.

Mikel Arteta likes having versatile players, and Rogers is comfortable playing multiple positions. He likes to be deployed in the No.10 role but is also efficient on the left flank. Furthermore, he can provide cover on the opposite side if needed.

The 23-year-old has showcased his qualities in the Premier League for Aston Villa since joining from Middlesbrough. He helped his side win the Europa League last term and has made 25 or more goal contributions across all competitions in the last two consecutive campaigns.

Rogers to Arsenal

After proving his worth in club football, Rogers, standing at 6ft 2in tall, has secured his place in Thomas Tuchel’s England national team for this World Cup.

Arsenal currently have Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard as left-wing options; moreover, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze can provide cover in this position if needed.

However, Madueke likes to be deployed on the right, while Eze is more comfortable in the creative midfield position. On the other hand, Martinelli and Trossard have displayed inconsistent performances in recent years.

So, the North London club could do with signing a new left-winger, and Rogers would be a shrewd acquisition should they eventually manage to lure him to the Emirates Stadium in this transfer window.
