Video: New Signing Scores Henry-Esq Goal As Arsenal U19s Reach Final
Summer signing Yassin Fortune scored a superb goal as Arsenal reached the final of the Durban under-19 tournament with a 4-2 penalty shoot-out win over Stuttgart after a 1-1 draw in South Africa.
Fortune made the move to North London from Lens back in May and he looks like he’s settling in well already after impressing for the U19’s this evening.
The 16-year-old started up front and showed he has a cool head in front of goal as he cut in from the left flank before slotting the ball home into the far corner of the net.
It was a great goal and it reminded me of how Thierry Henry used to finish during his time at the club. If Fortune can go on to have half the career Thierry did we’ve found ourselves a bargain!
Stuttgart eventually equalised in the second half but we won 4-2 in the penalty shoot-out to book our place in the final where we’ll play PSV on Saturday afternoon.
