Photos: Wilshere, Arteta & Debuchy Star In Arsenal XI Friendly Win
Arsenal received a welcome boost today as Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Debuchy all started in a behind closed doors friendly win over Brentford.
The trio have all been nursing long-term injuries in recent months but stepped up their recoveries having returned to full training last week.
The club confirmed earlier today that the three midfielders continued their rehabilitation after starting alongside the likes of Krystian Bielik, Mathieu Flamini and Abou Diaby for an Arsenal XI against Brentford in a friendly this afternoon.
We won the game comfortably 4-0 with Wilshere opening the scoring in the 7th minute before setting up Dan Cowley to make it 2-0 in the 19th minute. Further first-half goals from Alex Iwobi completed the rout.
Wilshere, Arteta and Diaby all played 45 minutes while Debuchy and Flamini got just over an hour under their belts, so they could all now be in contention to face Liverpool on Saturday.
