TWEETS: Ozil, Chambers, Gibbs, BFG + Podolski React On Twitter To Besiktas Win
Arsenal progressed to the group stages of the Champions League thanks to a 1-0 win over Besiktas on Wednesday night.
It was a nervy night but we got there in the end thanks to an Alexis Sanchez strike just before half time following some good work from Jack Wilshere.
We were made to cling on for the final 20 minutes after Mathieu Debuchy was wrongly sent off for a second bookable offence – even though he clearly got the ball – but the defence stood firm and we held out for the win.
After the game, several players took to Twitter to react to the win with Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker sharing a couple of dressing room photos.
Calum Chambers, Kieran Gibbs and Lukas Podolski also gave their thoughts on the vital victory, which secured our place in Europe’s elite competition for the 17th consecutive season.
Here’s what the boys had to say:
Fantastic that we have qualified for the Champions League! Once again a great atmosphere at the Emirates! Credit to the fans
