Arsene Wenger has offered a team news update ahead of Arsenal’s clash with West Brom and there is mixed news on Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck.

Ozil missed the draw with Chelsea last weekend due to inflammation on his knee and was not risked for our League Cup win over Doncaster last night.

However, the German international is back doing individual training and Wenger says Ozil should be back with the main group either today or tomorrow.

As long as he doesn’t suffer any setbacks, the playmaker should be in contention to face the Baggies when they come to the Emirates Stadium on Monday night.

The news isn’t quite so positive on Welbeck as the striker has been ruled out for the next three weeks after suffering a groin injury against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Danny will now also miss upcoming games against West Brom, BATE Borisov and Brighton while he’ll also miss England’s World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia and Lithuania next month.

However, Wenger says the aim is for Welbeck to be back in contention for Arsenal’s trip to Watford at Vicarage Road on October 14th after the international break.

The boss told Arsenal.com:

on Mesut Ozil…
He is in training and will come back with the team training today or tomorrow.

on Danny Welbeck…
Danny Welbeck has a groin injury. He will be back, his target is Watford. That means after the international break. He won’t be available for England and not for us before the break.

Obviously it will be a major boost to have a player of Ozil’s quality available again but it will be interesting to see who Wenger goes for in attack against West Brom after our industrious display at Chelsea.

In other news, Calum Chambers has been ruled out until after the international break after aggravating a hip injury last night but Wenger is confident Theo Walcott will be alright despite taking a kick to his knee.
