VIDEO: Giroud Bags Goal + Assist As France Thrash Switzerland

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has been in action this evening and he played a key role in helping France thrash Switzerland 5-2 to book their place in the knockout stages.

Giroud opened the scoring with a superb header before Matuidi made it 2-0 just seconds later with a tidy finish. Giroud then set up the third with a superb cross following a stunning break away, this time it was Valbuena who swept home.

Arsenal target Karim Benzema and Newcastle midfielder Mousa Sissoko made it 5-0 before the Swiss pulled two goals back late on.

It’s great to see Giroud playing so well and he really looked fresh and confident tonight. I’m backing the French to go far in this tournament based on their performances so far.
