Presenter rebukes Arteta for his gesture after Brentford win

TV presenter Richard Key has rebuked Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta for his gesture after beating Brentford this weekend.
The Gunners faced off versus the Bees on Saturday evening. They were presented with an opportunity to place themselves at the top of the table with a victory in that game as the earlier game between Manchester City and Liverpool finished in a stalemate.
The North London club struggled to break down Thomas Frank’s team for the majority of that encounter before Kai Havertz managed to score the solitary goal of the game in the 89th minute. So, following this victory, Arsenal are now at the summit of the table with 30 points from 13 games.
Havertz has come under a lot of criticism after enduring a tough start at Arsenal this term having joined the club last summer. Arteta has also come under fire for his decision to sign the midfielder by spending a hefty fee.
So, the Spanish boss was over the moon after the victory over Brentford. He expressed his joy by showing, the goalscorer, Havertz in front of the fans as if he was telling the world that he made the right decision by purchasing the German.
TV presenter denounces Arteta
However, Key didn’t take Arteta’s gesture pleasantly as he has criticised the Gunners boss heavily for his action. The TV presenter further states that although Havertz scored the winner versus Brentford, it’s still a bad decision that Arsenal have purchased the German for a fee of around £65m.
Key said:
“I didn’t like seeing Mikel Arteta marching across the Brentford pitch with his arms round Havertz. It was clear what he really was trying to say. ‘My man. I told you. My man’. Arteta knows he dropped a bollock paying all that money for Havertz so it was more with relief that he was cuddling and pointing at him. ‘I was right all along – you were wrong’. No Mikel. You weren’t.
Although Key is very critical about Arteta’s decision to sign Havertz, the midfielder is a highly talented player and possesses the necessary qualities to become a key part of the Gunners boss’ system going forward. So, signing the former Chelsea star might turn out to be an excellent decision in the future.
Havertz has struggled during the early stages of this season, but the North Londoners will be hoping that scoring against Brentford will give him confidence and he will be able to showcase his best from now on.
