Video: Cologne 1-0 Arsenal: Gunners slump in Germany thanks to dodgy penalty
We slumped to a poor 1-0 defeat to Cologne this evening thanks to a questionable penalty midway through the second half.
The first half was largely forgettable. We dominated the ball but struggled to create anything of note to it was all square at the break.
It continued in much the same vein in the second half until the referee livened things up by gifting the hosts a soft penalty after Debuchy had barely touched Guirassy.
The Cologne forward dusted himself off and tucked away the resulting spot kick to make it 1-0 in the 62nd minute.
We pushed for an equaliser but the closest we came is when substitute Reiss Nelson tested the keeper after some fine footwork so it ended 1-0 in Germany.
It was a poor display from the second string but we still managed to secure top spot in the group after the other game ended goalless.
