Video: Man Utd 1-1 Arsenal: Giroud to the rescue
Olivier Giroud came off the bench to rescue a point for Arsenal as we drew 1-1 with Manchester United at Old Trafford this afternoon.
After a pretty dull and even first half, United took control after the break and opened the scoring when Juan Mata swept home in the 68th minute. We could all see the goal was coming but Arsene Wenger did little to change things up to try and prevent it.
We continued to struggle to create anything of note until Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – on at right-back for Carl Jenkinson – produced a superb cross to tee-up Giroud who slammed home a header for 1-1 in the 89th minute.
It was our first shot on target throughout the entire game and while United weren’t overly impressive themselves, we should feel fortunate to come away with a point from Old Trafford today.
