[Video] Lens 1-1 Arsenal: Oxlade-Chamberlain scores stunning chip
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain came off the bench to score a stunning chip to rescue a 1-1 draw for Arsenal as we kicked off our pre-season preparations against RC Lens this evening.
We looked rusty in the first half and fell behind when a poor Calum Chambers header lead to a goal from Mathias Autret – who was on hand to tap home after Emi Martinez had saved well from the initial shot.
Oxlade-Chamberlain was one of several players introduced at the break and the midfielder levelled things up with a superb chipped finish following good work from Serge Gnabry in the 81st minute.
It was great to see The Ox looking sharp and it seems he’s well on the way to regaining full fitness after missing the final weeks of last season with a serious knee injury. Let’s hope this is a sign of things to come from him this season.
The game finished 1-1 and it was a decent run out for the boys but we’ve got plenty of work to do before we take on Liverpool in just over three weeks time.
