Video: Arsenal 0-2 Man City: Emery off to a losing start against dominant City
Unai Emery’s era at Arsenal got off to a disappointing start after we slumped to a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City at the Emirates this afternoon.
It didn’t take long for the old Arsenal to show itself as poor defending from Bellerin and Guendouzi allowed Sterling all the time he needed to fire home from 18 yards to make it 1-0 to City.
We grew in to the game and looked far more dangerous when Lacazette was introduced early in the second half but we couldn’t find an equaliser and City made us pay.
Just a minute after Cech had saved from Aguero one-v-one following a Guendouzi mistake the visitors doubled their lead when Bernado lashed home unmarked from 12 yards.
We saw a couple of goals from Aubameyang and Ozil chalked off [correctly] for offside so there was no way back and we start the season with a disappointing 2-0 defeat to the defending champions.
Much work to do for Emery and his coaching staff based on this display…
Here are the goals:
