Video: Arsenal 4-1 CSKA Moscow: Ramsey nets stunner for rampant Gunners
Arsenal have taken control of our Europa League quarter final after beating CSKA Moscow 4-1 in the first leg at the Emirates this evening.
We started brightly and opened the scoring in the 8th minute when Hector Bellerin’s cross found Aaron Ramsey and the Welshman made no mistake with a tidy finish.
Our lead didn’t last long as Laurent Koscielny gave away a stupid free-kick in a dangerous position following some shocking defending and Aleksandr Golovin curled home a stunning free-kick.
However, we restored our advantage from the penalty spot after Mesut Ozil was fouled in the area. Alexandre Lacazette made no mistake to make it 2-1 in the 23rd minute.
We made it 3-1 just 6 minutes later and it was a stunning goal as Ramsey grabbed his second of the night with a wonderful flick volley from an Ozil pass.
The goals kept flowing as Lacazette fired in to the bottom corner after being picked-out by Ozil in the 35th minute as Arsenal took a commanding lead in to the break.
We continued to dominate in the second half but somehow failed to add to our advantage with Lacazette, Ramsey and Welbeck missing the best of the chances.
Here are all the goals:
