Video: Arsenal 1-2 Ostersunds: Gunners embarrassed but through to last-16
Arsenal sunk to a new low after being deservedly beaten 2-1 by Ostersunds at the Emirates tonight but we still progress to the last-16 of the Europa League 4-2 on aggregate.
The players barely got out of first gear during the opening stages and Ostersunds took a deserved lead when Chambers could only help an Aiesh shot in to his own net in the 22nd minute.
Things turned in to a nightmare when the visitors went 2-0 ahead just a minute later. Some shocking defending from Chambers let Sema turn to fire home in to the bottom corner.
The nerves were settled just 2 minutes in to the second half as Sead Kolasinac fired home at the far post to restore our two-goal advantage at 4-2 on aggregate.
We then took our foot off the gas again and limped through the second half with Danny Welbeck missing a couple of chances to make it 2-2 but the Swedes held out for a famous win.
It wasn’t enough to send them through as we still progress 4-2 on aggregate but this was a despicable performance from Arsenal and we’ll have to improve immeasurably if we’re to compete with City on Sunday.
Watch the goals, if you dare:

Read Alan Smith’s comments earlier today. Wenger, aged 69 (or something and totally out of date), still takes the 1st team training sessions – without allowing his assistant, Steve Bould, more than Yes Man bit part. Steve Bould who actually knows defending where Wenger most obviously does NOT. Do you remember maybe 3 years ago Steve Bould did coach the defence, the results reflected his work and he gained much praise. Wenger did not like it and stopped him !!
