[Video Goals] Arsenal 3-1 Sydney Wanderers: Giroud & Ramsey on target

By on July 15, 2017

Arsenal continued their pre-season preparations with a 3-1 win over Western Sydney Wanderers in Australia today.

We opened the scoring in the 33rd minute and it was a fine goal as Olivier Giroud finished superbly at the near post following a lovely run from Nacho Monreal.

Our Spanish defender was at it again just four minutes later as he found Aaron Ramsey with a superb ball over the top and the midfielder lobbed the keeper to make it 2-0.

The result was put beyond doubt just before half-time as Mohamed Elneny’s long-range effort found the back of the net thanks to a large deflection to put us in control at 3-0 at the break.

Wanderers pulled one back when Lustica fired home from close range at the second time of asking after Emi Martinez had given away an indirect free-kick having picked up a Ramsey back pass.

Mesut Ozil had the best of the chances to extend our lead as he hit the post with a free-kick but had to settle for a 3-1 win that makes it back-to-back wins so far this pre-season.
