Video: Arsenal 0-2 Southampton: Saints march past shocking Gunners
Arsenal crashed out of the EFL Cup thanks to a shocking display as Southampton ran out deserved 2-0 winners at the Emirates tonight.
We made a reasonable start but it was the visitors who found the opening goal as Jordi Clasie was on hand to lash home a loose ball from the edge of the area in the 13th minute.
The boys just couldn’t get going and Southampton doubled their lead shortly before half time when Ryan Bertrand found the bottom corner from just inside the area following some extremely poor defending.
We upped the tempo after the break and at least started to create some chances but we failed to find the goal we needed to get ourselves back in the game and Southampton ran out deserved 2-0 winners in the end as they could also have increased their lead were it not for some smart Martinez saves at the other end.
