Arsenal stars named in Premier League Team of the Week
Arsenal duo Laurent Koscielny and Petr Cech have been named in the WhoScored? Premier League Team of the Week.
Koscielny was outstanding during our 1-0 victory over Newcastle United on Saturday with the centre-back not only a rock at the back to keep the Geordies at bay, but he popped up with a second half winner to secure the three points.
The French international’s performance at the Emirates earned him a WhoScored rating of 8.72 – which was the best for any Premier League defender this weekend – and a place in the team of the week.
Koscielny is joined in the line-up by team-mate Cech after he produced a number of fine saves to keep Newcastle out and preserve yet another clean sheet, and his rating of 8.43 was the best of any other goalkeeper.
Fully deserved for both players as they were excellent at the weekend. Let’s hope they can continue their form when we take on Sunderland in the FA Cup on Saturday.
