Arsenal Pair Named In Premier League ‘Team of the Week’
Arsenal duo Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal have been named in the WhoScored Premier League Team of the Week.
Koscielny once again marshalled our defence with a rock-solid display during our 1-0 victory over Burnley on Saturday evening to earn him an overall score of 8.19 – which was the joint-best score for any defender in the division at the weekend.
Monreal has established himself ahead of Kieran Gibbs as Arsene Wenger’s first choice left-back and proved his worth again with a solid outing at Turf Moor which earned him a score of 7.91.
Per Mertesacker (8.10) and Alexis Sanchez (8.42) narrowly missed on places in the Team of the Week, but it’s curious to see Francis Coquelin left out despite posting a score of 8.25 – which was higher than Nemanja Matic.
