Video: Welbeck Scores & Assists During MOTM Display For England
Arsenal attacker Danny Welbeck was in impressive form for England tonight as he scored and assisted during a 4-0 win over Lithuania in their European Championship qualifier.
Welbeck was heavily involved in the opening goal as he did well to work space down the right flank before seeing his shot saved which allowed Wayne Rooney to head home into the empty net.
The Arsenal forward then got himself on the score-sheet as he headed home a Jordan Henderson cross for 2-0 just before half-time. The ball took a deflection on the way in but Welbeck’s header was on target so it’s his goal.
England scored further goals in the second half via Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane while Theo Walcott also got a run-out towards the end as he replaced Welbeck with 10 minutes to go.
Welbeck was later awarded the Man of the Match for his efforts.
