Arsenal were held to a 0-0 draw by Besiktas in Istanbul on Tuesday night after a frustrating first leg in our Champions League play off clash.

The referee was poor all game and the pitch was even worse, but we almost won in at the death when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain came off the bench to hit the post with a fine individual effort.

It wasn’t Aaron Ramsey’s night as the Welshman got himself sent off for two bookable offences, with the midfielder penalised for two shirt pulls. They were both pretty harsh decisions but it was still a stupid way for Rambo to get himself dismissed and he’ll now miss the return leg at the Emirates next week.

However, Calum Chambers continued to impress with another fine performance at the back on his Champions League debut. He looks like he’s going to be an excellent signing for the club.

After the game, Ramsey, Chambers and Mesut Ozil – who didn’t feature as he’s still working his way back to full fitness – all took to Twitter to react to the game. Here’s what the boys had to say.

mr wenger pls stop starting dis nonsense giroud ahead of any striker in arsenal team bcs dis guy is killing our attack due to is lack of positional discpline & in my life never saw a striker marking defenders giroud is d striker dat ll never position himself, never open a space, his hold up play zero, killing our midfilders abilities his poor game. he almost finish ozil ahead of d world cup dat by his rubish play & dat cud be d reason why ozil said he has to improve his game by scoring goals dat means dat nonsense giroud cant help. another reason why Sanchez was sub was bcs of dis idiot giroud cos all d effort made by sanchez was striker to compliment it .sanogo has not b able to score goals but his games always help our attacking football by opening space & positioning to d right place wh campbell can better than sanogo & rubish giroud. wenger also has his own fault by not putting a pacy players like chamberlain or dat campbell in our wings wh is another thing killing d attack. if wenger can correct dis mistakes i can see arsenal wining d premiership

Wenger should buy a striker. With due respect for Giroud, any fan who watched Thierry , Van Persie, Edwardo , Wiltod, Kanu would etc would not settle for less especially in this era when Teams have resorted to ” virtually” buying trophies by buying expensively.
