Preview: Arsenal v Leicester, Team News, Line-Up & Prediction
Arsenal have an excellent opportunity to bounce back from Saturday’s disappointment when we entertain Leicester this evening.
We were extremely poor against Spurs and the most worrying thing was that their players seemed to want it more. Do that against any opposition and you’ll struggle to get a result, but do it in a NLD and it’s suicide.
However, it’s time to put that performance behind us and look forward. Leicester arrive sitting bottom of the table and they have a terrible record at Arsenal (not won in their last 21 visits) so we have no excuse for not picking up three points and hopefully improving our goal difference.
If Spurs don’t win at Anfield, we can go third in the table if we win by a three goal margin tonight. The first priority is obviously to secure the three points but it’s also a good chance to rack some goals up too.
Team News
Sanchez is back in the squad after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury, but I’d only start him if he’s 100% fit.
Oxlade-Chamberlain remains out with a groin problem so he joins Arteta and Debuchy on the sidelines.
Wilshere is back in full training but he’s not ready to play just yet. Gibbs is expected to come in at left-back with Monreal dropping out.
Preferred Line-Up
I got a lot of stick yesterday for saying Szczesny should start in goal but I stand by it. I’d rather see the Polish international in goal as I think he’s a better all-round keeper than Ospina. The Colombian hasn’t convinced me in his four games so I think it’s time Szczesny should return. That’s my opinion, you don’t have to agree with it, but let’s not act like children in the comments section today.
With Sanchez back, I’d move Ozil into a central role and give Cazorla a rest. Ramsey has been awful lately but we need his work rate and he needs games to get his confidence and form back.
Here’s how I’d line-up for the game:
Prediction
We’re playing the league’s bottom side at home, so nothing but three points will do. I hope we’re hungry after Saturday’s loss and as long as we apply ourselves correctly, I can see us racking up a good win tonight.
Arsenal 4-0 Leicester
