Arsenal agree deal to sign Kolkheti 1913’s Bartishvili

Arsenal have reportedly agreed on a deal in principle to sign Kolkheti 1913 youngster Andria Bartishvili, as per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Following Ethan Nwaneri’s loan move to Borussia Dortmund, the Gunners currently have Martin Odegaard and Eberechi Eze as specialist options to deploy in the CAM role.

However, after letting Gabriel Martinelli join Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal, Arsenal didn’t sign a new left-winger. So, Mikel Arteta currently has Christos Tzolis as the only left-wing option, and the Spanish boss used Eze on the LW in the first few games of this season.

Mikel Merino can also provide cover in the CAM role but is a box-to-box midfielder by trait. So, it appears Arsenal lack proper depth in the No.10 position.

Now, on X, Romano states that Arsenal have agreed on a deal to sign Bartishvili and the player is ‘on his way to London’ to undergo a medical before finalising the operation.

Bartishvili is still just 17 and won’t turn 18 until next March. So, the Georgian will officially move to the Emirates Stadium at the end of this campaign.

Romano wrote:

“Andria Bartishvili, on his way to London as he’s signing for Arsenal this week. Deal agreed last week for 17 year old Georgian talent joining AFC from June 2027 when he’ll be 18.”

Bartishvili to Arsenal

After coming through Dinamo Tbilisi’s youth system, Bartishvili joined Kolkheti 1913 last year. But he struggled to break into the starting line-up, so he joined FC Iberia 1999 on loan at the start of this year to play regularly and develop his career.

The youngster has shown glimpses of his qualities in Erovnuli Liga this season, scoring twice and registering a solitary assist in 16 appearances. Moreover, he has helped his side qualify for the Conference League.

Bartishvili is a creative midfielder by trait but is comfortable on either flank. He is technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, is efficient in creating opportunities for fellow attackers, and is comfortable with both feet.

Bartishvili is a talented player and possesses high potential. So, he might be a shrewd acquisition for the North London club with a view to the long-term future.
